She was my baby, of sorts.
I babysat her from day one and I really thought I would make a perfect mother, because she simply adores me.
I washed her, fed her, and most importantly, I bonded with her. And what's the best way to bond with a baby but to give her massages? I knew the ways of a mother.
I could be so lucky.
Now, my baby is 16 and I should be happy that she turned out all right. But a sense of loss sits in me.
I could never be a good mother, because I would never know how to let go.
